No One Owns the Night

Each day has its rule
And its harried tasks - can be cruel

While some may believe they own some claim
And many more have their personal aim

Brethren run, scurry to commute into that cube
Hey there Bro, buy this new thing - don’t be a rube

Day in and day out - the clock strikes the hour
While all the world struggles to dissociate power
To control - to rule - to contain - to oppress
Why not just put down those guns and give it less?

No one owns the night
The stars prove that we will be all right

No one owns the night.
