A Pebble’s Rings

Why does a pebble set out rings

That seek to be circles across time?

And how will the young prince’s flings

Find deeper truths below the water’s rhyme

Whilst the reasons for each may have a place;

Neither are new dreams of an ethereal space

Nor are they congealed ideas of very old kings-

Now that the church is quiet; no one sings.

Strange

Enter with tremor of eye

Or rush in with fervor to die

For evil’s fog hides the way

To and back the first day

Before the dark insane sky

Burgeons over children’s stay.

Ask the politicians if life’s fruit

Is more a true lie played on a lute

Or a false truth to rearrange

How Macheath lived so strange

So, to disguise the real face

Of Mac the Knife’s trace.

Hours Before Night’s Wake

In the sunlight the needs are clear;

whereas the moonlight finds fear.

And your eyes find me alone

with nothing left to own

when the day is done

and there is no one-

The night is there; still

and there is a chill.

Accept the ways of ache

In the hours before night’s wake.

Strays and Rays

That look in the eye is the way

From where lost has a long stay.

Poems must have their say

For dawn will find lost strays

Back home - at first-lights rays.

Red

From the inferno’s fires red

Sanguine and essence are wed

The join conceived notions

Hewn in flesh; refined in emotions.

Crimson flares and tongues in flame

Live only to consume those fed in blame

Along with the lost innocent lambs

To remain the demon’s fire in condemn.

Blue

From the ambitious day’s brightness

And from the desperate night’s darkness

There is a meeting time when gentle light caresses

With dawn’s soothing blues of redresses;

Or with dusk’s wistful tears in crimson prism-

Brushing life’s pained canvass into a blended schism.

Blue is a wayward son; the reluctant child

Who is the farthest away from all that is wild.

An Unseen Reflection

If the eyes are the mirrors

to the soul

Then how we see life

Is a reflection

of each touch we make

And it is in the light

When we are blind

That darkness makes sense.

Here in the Past

How did my grasp lose hold?

Who took my vast view
And all that I once knew?

Leaving me alone in this cabin room
Filled with strange keeps, yet old
Things that now haunt and loom
Over the edges of my black sea.

Where severed memories lie
Floating about in broken tie
To what was once me.

My life, when did it cast
Away leaving me in the past.

Pi at 2 AM

In delving into the immenseness of this chapel sky

The immediacy of reason and sanity evaporates

Into the schemes and images hidden amongst stars.

Their seemingly stilled images – chaotic vestiges;

Where the begin and the end share infinite pi

And timelessness and black space have unique elaborates

As the heart and the spirit battle against the mind’s bars

That secret away the touchstone as its own aegis.

One

In reflecting the impermanence of the one sky

While the moon’s light dwells by - so casually

Amongst the wisps of white travelers; sailing

One disowns life’s encumbrances

And marries instead the notion to fly

Across the spectrum – so beautifully!

For neither the one worshipper nor the one reveler

Shall seek need for long remembrances.

Dawn’s Finding

Transference of life thru the morning’s first light

Whether to find the ravagers of the lost night

Or to wait the blessings of the blue edged sight

Count your followers and tend their needs

Send out the hunters and gatherers of seeds

We must bury those who lost their creeds

Give homage to who survived the demon’s voracious fight

Lest inevitable time; we shall all sweep away in eventual flight.

Boats by a Barn

Underneath the bruised skies of fall

The old children migrate to their call

And to mother’s womb that is their hue

Returning home from distant seas

To rest upon the cold bromegrass dew-

For only the triangle barn’s pleas

Are waived the for a boat’s reeds

To survive a dangerous sea’s deeds.
